Melbet KYC and AML Policy: Identity Checks for Players

Melbet checks who its players are and where the money comes from. This is called KYC (know your customer) and AML (anti-money laundering). The checks protect your account, keep minors out and stop the service from being used for illegal payments. This page explains how it works for players in Sri Lanka.

What we ask you to fill in and confirm

The profile asks for your first and last name, date of birth, place of birth, document type and number, document issue date, region, city and permanent registered address. For players in Sri Lanka the document type is the National ID card. The country of the account is fixed once it is set.

You also confirm your e-mail and bind your phone number. After registration, an "Account activation" message asks you to confirm the e-mail, and the letter arrives within 10 minutes. Most bonuses need the phone number confirmed before the first deposit.

Documents we may request

Documents are requested when we need to verify your account, for example before a withdrawal. The standard set is a photo of your identity document and a utility bill that is not older than 3 months. If the documents raise doubts, we may ask for notarised copies, a photo of you holding the document, or an identity check by video call.

There is no upload section for documents in the account. When a check is needed, support tells you what to send and how. Send copies only through the channels support names, and never share a one-time code or the password.

Anti-money laundering controls

We monitor deposits, withdrawals and betting activity for signs of unusual behaviour. Withdrawals go to the same payment details that were used for the deposit. The deposit has to be used for betting, with odds of at least 1.10, before it is paid out. We may ask for more information about the source of funds when a payment looks unusual or large.

If a check is not passed, we may suspend the account, hold the payment, cancel a bonus and report the case to the competent authorities where the law requires it.

What is not allowed

Using the account to move money without betting, paying with funds that belong to another person, opening several accounts, giving false or altered documents and using a payment method in someone else's name are forbidden. Accounts of persons under 18 are closed. These actions can lead to blocking of the account and cancellation of winnings.

Your obligations

Give true data and keep it current. Reply to a request for documents promptly, because a payment can stay on hold until the check is complete. To change the e-mail on the account, contact customer support. If your documents change, tell us.

Your documents are handled under the Privacy Policy. For questions about a check, write to info-si@melbet.com, and for security concerns write to security@melbet.com.
